Illusions are often an intricate part of human nature.  October often brings magic in the air, relationships get closer as we snuggle under blankets at ghostly hay rides, and steal kisses under the candlelight after carving pumpkins.   Even as we get ready for our Halloween parties there is an undertone of sexual excitement in the air.   Role-play brings out some of our best qualities and emotions, even enlightening our partners to hidden qualities and personas.   There is always a time and place for entertaining illusions…

With November coming, the jack-o-lantern candlelight fades as quickly as the colors through the trees.  Scents of spice begin to fill the air, along with warm fires, deepening love, and talks of pumpkin pie, Thanksgiving, and faith.   Most couples seem to have the falling in love and having fun part down, but when it comes to faith and trust, relationships start getting a little tougher.   Holidays have a way of allowing us a time to sit and consider these aspects of our lives.

Faith and trust are extremely difficult topics for me.  Relationships are earth shattering for the twisted cynic dedicated to the spirit of doubt and disbelief.  I read of lot of Henry Miller who inspires me, yet at the same time has convinced me that ‘hope’ is a silent killer, like heart disease and psychosis.  After all, there is always a little loss of sanity when we put our hearts on the line.

The topic of faith has been weighing heavily on my mind as of late.  What does it take to change a cynic into a believer?  For me “leap of faith” was the equivalent to jumping off a cliff, never mind the parachute, we all go “splat” in the end.  In November we will take a look at faith and trust in our relationships, how to strengthen it and in my case, learn how to have it.   While I try to learn more about tearing down my own walls and having faith, perhaps you will find ways to strengthen these values in your relationship.  No worries about it getting too serious, there will be plenty of wicked kinky chefs standing by to whisk (whip) you back into shape.
